Preparation Instructions

STEP 1: PREPARE YOUR PLANT & POT

These moss poles have a larger diameter and are great for supporting Monstera and Philodendron plants. Simply plant your moss pole at the bottom of your plant pot, and tuck dirt or moss around the base for ground support.

STEP 2: SOAK YOUR MOSS

Place your Sphagnum or sheet moss into a container of water and allow to thoroughly soak, about 15 minutes. Once the moss is soaked, remove from container and squeeze to remove excess water. The goal is to have damp moss that isn’t dripping wet.

STEP 3: INSERT THE MEDIUM TO YOUR POLE

Next, lay handfuls of moss into your pole. Use one hand to hold the moss pole, and gently place moss into the base of the pole until it reaches the top. 

Remember, the more densely packed your moss pole is - the less water it can hold! The perfect placement for moss is lightly packed with room to expand as it gains moisture.

Once the moss is secure, your plant is ready to grow up your new moss pole! As the plant matures and grows to the top of your new pole, you can easily extend the pole to continue growing, or you can propagate the new leaves to begin new plants.

Moss poles mimic the texture of moist, mossy bark and provide physical support for your plant's aerial roots to climb upward, and this also promotes growth & fenestrations for many aroid/philodendron species. These moss poles are easily removable, allowing you to make cuttings and continue your plant offspring quickly and safely. 

This plant support is ideal for indoor climbing plants and vines while maintaining moisture for aerial roots absorption. Made from PLA Filament, this pole is safe and sturdy for training climbing plants to grow large and upright.

    BASE:

    This package comes with the pot base support that secures the moss pole in your desired pot. The included Moss Pole Extension can then be placed into the connection, where it holds your moss pole in place. The water drip top can then be placed on top to create a slow release of water into your moss pole gradually.

    EXTENSION:

    This package is intended to be used in addition to the Base package, where it is an extension to the existing moss pole. Stackable up to 6 tiers (recommended maximum height), you can reach a pole height of approximately 66 inches or 5.5 feet!
