STEP 1: PREPARE YOUR PLANT & POT

These moss poles have a larger diameter and are great for supporting Monstera and Philodendron plants. Simply plant your moss pole at the bottom of your plant pot, and tuck dirt or moss around the base for ground support.

STEP 2: SOAK YOUR MOSS

Place your Sphagnum or sheet moss into a container of water and allow to thoroughly soak, about 15 minutes. Once the moss is soaked, remove from container and squeeze to remove excess water. The goal is to have damp moss that isn’t dripping wet.

STEP 3: INSERT THE MEDIUM TO YOUR POLE

Next, lay handfuls of moss into your pole. Use one hand to hold the moss pole, and gently place moss into the base of the pole until it reaches the top. 

Remember, the more densely packed your moss pole is - the less water it can hold! The perfect placement for moss is lightly packed with room to expand as it gains moisture.

Once the moss is secure, your plant is ready to grow up your new moss pole! As the plant matures and grows to the top of your new pole, you can easily extend the pole to continue growing, or you can propagate the new leaves to begin new plants.
